A famous hilltop Hanuman temple in Ayodhya, believed to be the residence of Hanuman who guards the birthplace of Lord Rama.
📜 History & Origin
The temple occupies a strategic hillock that was once a fort (garhi). Legend says Hanuman lived in a cave here and guarded Ayodhya. The Nawab of Avadh, Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula, rebuilt the current structure in the 18th century despite being Muslim, out of reverence for the site. 76 steps lead up to the main temple.

Fort-like structure atop a hillock with 76 steep steps. The main sanctum houses the unique idol of infant Hanuman on Anjani devi lap. Four smaller temples at the four corners. The compound offers a panoramic view of Ayodhya and the Sarayu river.
