The temple is of ancient origin. The Shri Balaji Seva Sansthan has managed the temple for generations. The tradition of treating spirit afflictions has been documented for centuries. Thousands of families bring afflicted members here annually, some staying for weeks or months in the nearby camps.

Three main shrines in a mountain setting. The Balaji (Hanuman) idol is swayambhu (self-manifested) in the rock. The Bhairav temple is adjacent. Pretraj Sarkar shrine is further up the hill. The entire complex is built into the natural rock formations.
