The original house of his birth was converted into a gurudwara. It is one of the five Takhts (thrones of temporal authority) in Sikhism. The golden dome was added later and the present structure is one of the most magnificent gurudwaras in India.

📜 History & Origin

Guru Gobind Singh was born here on 22 December 1666 to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Mata Gujri Ji. The original structure was built in the 17th century.
