🕐 The Sacred Legend

The Mahavir Mandir Patna is dedicated to Sankat Mochan Hanuman — the remover of all troubles. It is managed by the Mahavir Mandir Trust which runs extensive charitable services including hospitals. The temple is one of the wealthiest in Bihar with an annual income of over Rs. 100 crore, much of which goes to charity. It is believed that Hanuman here grants relief from all afflictions when devotees pray with sincerity.

📜 History & Origin

The current temple was established in 1947. The Mahavir Mandir Trust was founded in 1979 under the guidance of Acharya Kishore Kunal which transformed the temple into a major social service institution. The trust now runs Mahavir Cancer Sansthan (a free cancer hospital) and Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital.

Large multi-level temple complex adjacent to Patna Junction. Modern temple architecture with spacious darshan halls. The main Hanuman idol is depicted in the veer (warrior) posture. Adjacent Shiva temple and Mata temple in the complex.

🆣 Puja & Rituals

Daily aartis morning and evening. Tuesday and Saturday special puja with huge queues. The famous Narayani Prasad (a special sweet) is prepared daily and distributed to all devotees. Queue management system for smooth darshan.
