The whole month of Magha is considered especially pure for bathing in rivers at dawn. Its full moon is the climax: kalpavasis take their final bath, offer daan, feed Brahmins and the poor, and return home.
The Brahmavaivarta and other Puranas say that on Magha Purnima Vishnu himself dwells in the waters of the Ganga.

🎶Guru Ravidas Jayantiगुरु रविदास जयंती
Sant Ravidas (15th–16th century), a cobbler of Varanasi, taught that devotion and an honest heart matter more than caste or ritual. Forty of his hymns are in the Guru Granth Sahib. His followers celebrate with processions, kirtan and langar, especially at Seer Goverdhanpur in Varanasi and across Punjab.
His best-known line: “Man changa to kathauti mein Ganga” — if the heart is pure, the Ganga is in your own washing bowl.
