Om - the primordial sound
Katyayanaye - to Katyayani, born to sage Katyayana
Vidmahe - may we know
Kanya Kumaryei - to the eternal virgin goddess
Dhimahi - we meditate
Tanno - may that
Durgihi - Durga, the invincible
Prachodayat - inspire and enlighten
May we know Katyayani. We meditate upon the eternal maiden goddess. May that Durga inspire our intellect and grant us her protective strength.
