5. You have absorbed the power of the entire universe and given food and wealth for its sustenance.
6. You became Annapurna and nourished the world. You are the primordial beautiful one.
7. At the time of dissolution you destroy everything. You are Gauri, beloved of Shiva.
8. Shiva’s yogis sing your virtues. Brahma and Vishnu meditate on you daily.
9. You took the form of Saraswati and gave good wisdom to rescue sages and saints.
10. O Amba, you took the form of Narasimha and appeared by splitting the pillar.
11. You protected and saved Prahlada and sent Hiranyaksha to heaven.

17. Bhavani looks beautiful riding a lion. The brave Langur (Hanuman) walks ahead.
18. A skull-cup and sword adorn your hands. Seeing you even death runs away in fear.
19. Weapons and the trident adorn you. Their sight pierces the hearts of enemies.
20. You reside in Nagarkot (Kangra). Your drum beats in all three worlds.
21. You slew the demons Shumbha and Nishumbha and destroyed Raktabija.
22. The demon king Mahishasura was extremely arrogant, burdening the earth with his sins.
23. You took the terrible form of Kali and destroyed him along with his army.
24. Whenever difficulties came upon the saints and sages, O Mother, you came to their aid.
25. In Amarpuri and Basav’s realm, your glory keeps everyone free from sorrow.
26. Your divine flame burns in Jwalamukhi. Men and women always worship you there.
27. Those who sing your glory with loving devotion – sorrow and poverty never come near them.
28. Whoever meditates on you with a focused mind – birth and death are released for them.
29. Yogis, gods and sages call out – no yoga is possible without your divine energy.
30. Shankaracharya performed austerities and conquered desire and anger completely.
31. He meditated on Shankara day and night but never remembered you.
32. He did not understand the secret of Shakti’s form and when Shakti left he repented.
33. He took refuge in you and sang your glory. Victory, victory, victory to Jagadamba Bhavani.

Meaning
Opening Doha: Glory to Ganesha, son of Girija, auspicious and wise. Ayodhyadas says – grant me the boon of fearlessness.
1. Glory to the lord of Girija, compassionate to the poor, who always protects the saints.
2. The moon adorns his forehead beautifully. Earrings of serpent hoods adorn his ears.
3. His body is fair and the Ganga flows from his head. He wears a garland of skulls and sacred ash.
4. He is adorned in tiger skin garments. Even the serpents are enchanted seeing his beauty.
5. He is the darling of Mother Maina (Parvati’s mother). His left side is adorned with her beautiful form.
6. The trident in his hand looks splendid. It always destroys enemies.
7. Nandi and Ganesha shine there like lotuses in the middle of the ocean.
8. Kartikeya, Shyam (Krishna) and the lord of ganas – this beauty cannot be described by anyone.
9. Whenever the gods went and cried out, the Lord himself removed their sorrows at that very moment.
10. Tarakasura caused great havoc and all the gods together prayed to you.
11. You immediately sent Shadanana (Kartikeya) who slew him in the blink of an eye.
12. You yourself slew the demon Jalandhara. Your glory is known throughout the world.
13. You fought with Tripurasura and saved everyone by your grace.
14. Bhagirath performed great austerities and you Purari (Shiva) fulfilled his ancient vow.
15. None equals you among givers. Your servant always sings your praises.
16. The Vedas sing the glory of your name. It is unspeakable, without beginning, its mystery never found.
17. When flames appeared during the churning of the ocean, gods and demons were distressed and burning.
18. You showed compassion and came to their aid. Then you received the name Neelkanth (blue-throated).
19. When Ramachandra performed worship of you, after winning Lanka he gave it to Vibhishana.
20. He was offering a thousand lotuses and you tested him then.
21. The Lord kept one lotus hidden. He who has lotus eyes (Rama) wanted to offer that.
22. Shankara saw his difficult devotion and was pleased and gave the desired boon.
23. Glory, glory, glory to the eternal indestructible one. Who shows grace while dwelling in everyone’s heart.
24. All evil persons torment me daily. I wander confused and get no peace.
25. Save me, save me, I call out O Lord. Come and rescue me at this moment.
26. Take your trident and destroy my enemies. Come and rescue me from danger.
27. Mother, father, brothers – they are all there. But in times of trouble none asks after me.
28. O Master, I have only hope in you. Come and remove this great danger.
29. You always give wealth to the poor. Whoever asks receives the fruit.
30. How shall I offer prayers to you? Forgive my mistakes O Lord.
31. O Shankar, destroyer of dangers. Cause of auspiciousness, destroyer of obstacles.
32. Yogis, ascetics and sages meditate. Sharada and Narada bow their heads.
33. Salutations, salutations, victory to Shivaya. Gods and Brahma cannot reach your end.
34. Whoever reads this with a devoted mind – Shambhu becomes their helper.
35. If anyone is burdened with debts, reading this removes them completely.
36. Whoever desires a son – they will surely receive Shiva’s grace.

5. You sit on a white lotus dressed in white. A crown adorns your head, your lotus eyes are beautiful.
6. In your four arms shine a book, veena and garland. You hold the abhaya mudra, protector of devotees.
7. O mother, swan-mounted, you remove the fear of worldly existence. You are the Goddess of knowledge and remover of all sorrows.
