Vrindavan Prem Mandir

📜 History & Origin

Constructed under the guidance of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj (born 1922), who was recognized as the fifth original Jagadguru. Construction began in 2001 and took 11 years. Thousand artisans from Rajasthan and other states worked on the intricate stone carvings. Inaugurated on Vasant Panchami 2012.

🏛 Architecture & Structure

Pure white Italian marble exterior. 54 metre tall shikhara. Outer walls feature 84 panels of sculpted scenes from Radha-Krishna and Ram-Sita leelas. The main temple has the central idol of Radha-Krishna in the sanctum and Sita-Ram on the upper level. The compound has sculptural depictions of the 12 forests (Dvadash Vana) of Vrindavan. Evening light show illuminates the entire marble in changing colors.

🆣 Puja & Rituals

Regular daily aartis. The famous evening light and music show (7-8 PM) projects colored lights on the white marble creating a magical atmosphere. Kirtan programs daily. Bhagavad Katha programs held regularly.

Rail: Mathura Junction (12 km) then auto/e-rickshaw to Vrindavan. Road: Delhi to Vrindavan (145 km, 2.5 hrs via Yamuna Expressway). Buses from Delhi Sarai Kale Khan to Mathura/Vrindavan.
