चन्द्रां हिरण्मयीं लक्ष्मीं जातवेदो म आवह ॥ १॥
Chandram hiranmayim lakshmim jatavedo ma avaha 1
O Jatavedas (Agni), bring to me Lakshmi — golden in colour, graceful as a doe, wearing garlands of gold and silver, radiant as the moon, shining like gold.
हे जातवेद (अग्निदेव), सुनहरे वर्ण वाली, हिरणी जैसी सुंदर, सोने-चाँदी की माला पहने, चंद्रमा जैसी उज्ज्वल, स्वर्णमयी लक्ष्मी को मेरे लिए बुलाइए।
यस्यां हिरण्यं विन्देयं गामश्वं पुरुषानहम् ॥ २॥
Yasyam hiranyam vindeyam gamashvam purushanaham 2
O Jatavedas, bring to me that Lakshmi who never leaves, through whom I may gain gold, cattle, horses and people around me.
हे जातवेद, उस लक्ष्मी को मेरे पास लाइए जो कभी दूर न जाएँ, जिनसे मैं स्वर्ण, गौएँ, घोड़े और परिजन प्राप्त करूँ।
श्रियं देवीमुपह्वये श्रीर्मा देवी जुषताम् ॥ ३॥
Shriyam devimupahvaye shrirma devi jushatam 3
I invoke the goddess Shri, who is heralded by horses, with chariots at her centre, announced by the trumpeting of elephants. May the goddess Shri be pleased with me.
जिनके आगे घोड़े और बीच में रथ हैं, जो हाथियों की गर्जना से जागती हैं, उन श्री देवी का मैं आह्वान करता हूँ। श्री देवी मुझ पर प्रसन्न हों।
पद्मे स्थितां पद्मवर्णां तामिहोपह्वये श्रियम् ॥ ४॥
Padme sthitam padmavarnam tamihopahvaye shriyam 4
I invoke here Shri — the giver of joy, gently smiling, encircled by gold, tender with compassion, glowing, content and contenting others, seated on a lotus and lotus-coloured.
आनंद देने वाली, मंद मुस्कान वाली, स्वर्ण से घिरी, करुणा से आर्द्र, तेजस्वी, स्वयं तृप्त और दूसरों को तृप्त करने वाली, कमल पर विराजमान, कमल वर्ण वाली उन श्री का मैं यहाँ आह्वान करता हूँ।
तां पद्मिनीमीं शरणमहं प्रपद्येऽलक्ष्मीर्मे नश्यतां त्वां वृणे ॥ ५॥
Tam padminimim sharanamaham prapadyelakshmirme nashyatam tvam vrine 5
I take refuge in Shri, radiant as the moon, blazing with glory, honoured by the gods in this world, generous, holding the lotus. May my misfortune perish; I choose you.
चंद्रमा जैसी उज्ज्वल, यश से दीप्त, संसार में देवताओं से पूजित, उदार, कमल धारण करने वाली श्री की मैं शरण लेता हूँ। मेरी दरिद्रता नष्ट हो, मैं आपको वरण करता हूँ।
तस्य फलानि तपसा नुदन्तु मायान्तरायाश्च बाह्या अलक्ष्मीः ॥ ६॥
Tasya phalani tapasa nudantu mayantarayashcha bahya alakshmih 6
O you of the Sun’s splendour, from your austerity the bilva, king of trees, was born. By that power may its fruits drive away my inner obstacles and outer misfortunes.
हे सूर्य जैसी कांति वाली, आपके तप से वृक्षों का राजा बिल्व उत्पन्न हुआ। उसके फल उस तप के बल से मेरी भीतरी बाधाओं और बाहरी दरिद्रता को दूर करें।
प्रादुर्भूतोऽस्मि राष्ट्रेऽस्मिन् कीर्तिमृद्धिं ददातु मे ॥ ७॥
Pradurbhutosmi rashtresmin kirtimriddhim dadatu me 7
May Kubera, friend of the gods, come to me with fame and the precious jewel. I am born in this land — may he grant me fame and prosperity.
देवताओं के मित्र कुबेर कीर्ति और मणि के साथ मेरे पास आएँ। मैं इस राष्ट्र में जन्मा हूँ — वे मुझे कीर्ति और समृद्धि दें।
अभूतिमसमृद्धिं च सर्वां निर्णुद मे गृहात् ॥ ८॥
Abhutimasamriddhim cha sarvam nirnuda me grihat 8
I destroy Alakshmi, the elder sister of Lakshmi, who is the impurity of hunger and thirst. Drive out from my home all poverty and lack.
भूख-प्यास रूपी मैल वाली ज्येष्ठा अलक्ष्मी का मैं नाश करता हूँ। मेरे घर से सब अभाव और दरिद्रता को निकाल दीजिए।
ईश्वरीं सर्वभूतानां तामिहोपह्वये श्रियम् ॥ ९॥
Ishvarim sarvabhutanam tamihopahvaye shriyam 9
I invoke here Shri, known by her fragrance, unassailable, ever-nourishing, rich in cattle, the sovereign of all beings.
सुगंध से पहचानी जाने वाली, अजेय, सदा पुष्ट करने वाली, गौ-धन से समृद्ध, सब प्राणियों की स्वामिनी उन श्री का मैं यहाँ आह्वान करता हूँ।
पशूनां रूपमन्नस्य मयि श्रीः श्रयतां यशः ॥ १०॥
Pashunam rupamannasya mayi shrih shrayatam yashah 10
May we attain the wishes and intentions of the mind and truthful speech. May the beauty of cattle, abundance of food and good name rest in me through Shri.
हम मन की कामनाएँ और संकल्प तथा वाणी की सत्यता प्राप्त करें। पशुओं का सौंदर्य, अन्न की समृद्धि और यश श्री के रूप में मुझमें निवास करें।
श्रियं वासय मे कुले मातरं पद्ममालिनीम् ॥ ११॥
Shriyam vasaya me kule mataram padmamalinim 11
Lakshmi has a son in Kardama. O Kardama, be with me, and make Shri, the mother garlanded with lotuses, dwell in my family.
कर्दम ऋषि से लक्ष्मी संतानवती हुईं। हे कर्दम, मुझमें निवास कीजिए और कमलों की माला पहनने वाली माता श्री को मेरे कुल में बसाइए।
नि च देवीं मातरं श्रियं वासय मे कुले ॥ १२॥
Ni cha devim mataram shriyam vasaya me kule 12
May the waters bring forth abundance. O Chiklita, dwell in my house, and make the divine mother Shri dwell in my family.
जल स्निग्धता और समृद्धि उत्पन्न करे। हे चिक्लीत, मेरे घर में निवास कीजिए और दिव्य माता श्री को मेरे कुल में बसाइए।

O Jatavedas, bring to me Lakshmi — moist with compassion, dwelling in the lotus pond, nourishing, golden-tawny, garlanded with lotuses, radiant as the moon, shining like gold.
हे जातवेद, करुणा से आर्द्र, कमल-सरोवर में रहने वाली, पुष्टि देने वाली, पिंगल वर्ण, कमलों की माला पहने, चंद्रमा जैसी उज्ज्वल, स्वर्णमयी लक्ष्मी को मेरे लिए बुलाइए।
सूर्यां हिरण्मयीं लक्ष्मीं जातवेदो म आवह ॥ १४॥
Suryam hiranmayim lakshmim jatavedo ma avaha 14
O Jatavedas, bring to me Lakshmi — moist with compassion, holding the sceptre, beautiful in colour, wearing a golden garland, bright as the sun, shining like gold.
हे जातवेद, करुणा से आर्द्र, दंड धारण करने वाली, सुंदर वर्ण वाली, स्वर्ण माला पहने, सूर्य जैसी तेजस्वी, स्वर्णमयी लक्ष्मी को मेरे लिए बुलाइए।
यस्यां हिरण्यं प्रभूतं गावो दास्योऽश्वान्विन्देयं पुरुषानहम् ॥ १५॥
Yasyam hiranyam prabhutam gavo dasyoshvanvindeyam purushanaham 15
O Jatavedas, bring to me that Lakshmi who never leaves, through whom I may gain abundant gold, cattle, helpers, horses and people around me.
हे जातवेद, उस लक्ष्मी को मेरे पास लाइए जो कभी दूर न जाएँ, जिनसे मैं प्रचुर स्वर्ण, गौएँ, सेवक, घोड़े और परिजन प्राप्त करूँ।
सूक्तं पञ्चदशर्चं च श्रीकामः सततं जपेत् ॥ १६॥
Suktam panchadasharcham cha shrikamah satatam japet 16
Whoever, pure and self-controlled, offers ghee into the fire every day, and, wishing for Shri, recites these fifteen verses constantly, receives her grace.
जो पवित्र और संयमित होकर प्रतिदिन अग्नि में घी की आहुति देता है और श्री की कामना से इन पंद्रह ऋचाओं का निरंतर जप करता है, उसे श्री की कृपा मिलती है।
